Today Pinkie is doing her best to stay warm. She gets to take a nap in a blanket while I work on planning out my next art project and next semester. Me, Pinkie Pie and family will start the new year with a lot of changes. For the past 2 years I have taught Art at Monnig Middle School in Fort Worth. Starting in January I will be teaching PE at a private school in Keller. Lots of changes, but being closer to home is going to be great, but still I will miss my school family at Monnig!
I am going to continue to make art and this site will be my place to share all of my artistic adventures. For every student out there-I will miss you all! You will be in good hands with your next teacher...(I cannot reveal names right now:) . I wish you all the best and if you ever want to see what me and my chi (and don't forget Bunbun!) are up to, you can see it here.
Love and Kindness,
It was a dark and stormy afternoon...
Yesterday it was raining all afternoon and as I was leaving school I'm guessing this little guy hopped in. We humanly released him on the school grounds by a tree where we hope he lives a happy life :).
He made the students day!
A few of our students were invited to participate in a Writing to look program at the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth.
The kids had a fantastic time learning about this artist and others like him. They learned about Kaws and the kind of art he creates. The students also learned history of symbols and graffiti. The students were able to apply what they learned to create their own designs on tshirts, skateboards, billboards etc.
The students really loved this exhibit and I hope to take another group back soon to see it!
Check out the gallery below to see some of the images we captured of the exhibit.
